Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs prepare students with the hands-on skills, leadership experiences, and workplace knowledge they need for success in college, careers, and beyond. At River View High School, students who complete the CTE pathway not only gain valuable real-world experience but are also recognized at graduation with a special medallion and certificate for their outstanding efforts. This honor highlights a student’s commitment to excellence, responsibility, and preparation for the future, setting them apart in applications for scholarships, jobs, and higher education.
What Does It Take to Be a CTE Completer?
To earn the distinction of CTE Completer, students must meet the following requirements:
- take AFNR Ag Science as their freshman science course,
- complete Health Class with Mrs. Ward, and
- take Computer Applications class with Mr. McLaughlin.
In addition, students must:
- pass six additional semesters of CTE classes beyond these three courses,
- complete the leadership component required in each class, and
- maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in all CTE coursework.
By staying on track as a CTE completer, students not only build a strong academic foundation but also develop the confidence and leadership skills needed for success after graduation. River View High School encourages every student to aim for this achievement and proudly wear the medallion that represents their hard work and dedication.
